What is the Truth?

I am worried that most of the things that I see or hear from any type of media is a lie. Why should I worry? does it change anything? Why should any one care if there are truth or lies floating around their heads? Everything becomes a desensitized mumble of words and images eventually anyways. If people die, who knows if it’s real or not, may as we not care… just in case.

I believe that you exist. Safer to assume that you don’t. If I start believing that you exist I may start caring and that will be the downfall of mankind…at least that’s I heard somewhere (not sure where). No attachments to anything keeps us floating in limbo. No anchors. Like muscle to bone, guns to bullets, or sex to birth.

A cycle of disbelief that can go nowhere real fast. A lie revealed can create freedom. The decision to not decide is yet another decision.

OK OK…. you caught me… I am ranting about the Lunar Lander and the fraudulent material that exist to support its success. Easy to believe when everyone believes. Easy to make no decision one way or the other when confused… just hoping to reap the benefits if it is true.

I would love to live on the moon, watching the earth from my domed world, wondering what the people were fighting about. Hoping that people wouldn’t kill each other anymore. That the blue droplet of life hanging in the vacuum of space would unite and stop screwing around with each others lives. If only they realized that they all breathe the same air, drink the same water. Cry the same tears. Watching from above would give most of us an impossible perspective on how small we really are. That the sand on the beach, seeping between our toes as we play in the surf of the ocean, are just as important as the universe as a whole…

But reality would kick in like a heavy boot to your door. Like the fat cat politicians telling you to pay your taxes so a secret war could stay a secret, and food could be taken from many needy mouths to rot in gluttonous hands. In reality people are expendable, our opinions really don’t matter and as a human spirit the only thing evident is our thirst for power and creative avoidance of accountability to the future.

Beer makes it easier to ignore the screams from behind closed doors. A dull rumbling below the surface that can easily be thought of as a fart or some South American earthquake. Repetitive clubs to the head would make the brain not work so well… Even if the great hand points to a lie, the truth will shine through like an ugly woman in a beauty pageant. The truth is a sweet elixir amongst the synthetic mess of propaganda and miss trust.

What is truth? Go ask your priest… but only if you trust him with your kids :)
